iPhone HEIC photos won't open on Windows? Here's the free fix (2026)
Since iOS 11, iPhones save photos as HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container). It saves ~50% storage versus JPG โ but Windows Photo Viewer, many printers, government portals and older software still can't open it. Windows 11 can decode HEIC only after installing the paid "HEIF Image Extensions" add-on from the Microsoft Store.
The privacy problem with online converters: most "free HEIC converter" websites upload your photos to their servers. Family photos, ID documents, receipts โ all sent to an unknown server just to change a format.
ConvertFlow decodes HEIC inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your photos are never uploaded. Open the converter, drop your .heic files, click Convert, and download real JPG files that open everywhere โ for free, with batch support.
